Sekolah Harapan Bangsa successfully held its English Day event on Tuesday, 24 February 2026, at the school hall. The programme involved junior and senior high school students in a series of engaging and educational activities.
The event began with the Battle of Words from 09:10 to 09:50. Students enthusiastically participated in this vocabulary-based competition, showcasing their language skills, quick thinking, and confidence in using English.
Following a short break, the official opening took place from 10:10 to 10:15. The session began with an opening prayer led by Mr. Aji. This marked the formal start of the event and set a respectful tone for the activities that followed.
The next activity, English Petty Debate, was held from 10:15 to 11:05. Students debated on various topics, demonstrating their critical thinking, speaking abilities, and teamwork. The session was judged by Mr. Aji, Ms. Yanti, and Ms. Yenny, who carefully evaluated the participants’ arguments and delivery.
From 11:05 to 12:05, students took part in the Product Pitch segment. In this activity, they presented creative product ideas in English, aiming to persuade the audience with their marketing skills and innovative thinking. The same panel of judges assessed the presentations based on creativity, clarity, and persuasiveness.
The event concluded with a closing prayer and remarks from 12:05 to 12:10. Overall, English Day was a successful and enjoyable event that not only strengthened students’ English proficiency but also built their confidence in public speaking.
