On Thursday, October 22, 2015 Harapan Bangsa School participated in Spelling Bee Competition. The competition was held by Mater Dei School and sponsored by English First (EF). Vanessa Annabel Twyla (5A), Elizabeth Kezia Wijaya (5B) and Zefanya Graciel Mandey (5B) competed with other students.

At Mater Dei School……

After the short briefing, the students prepared themselves and entered the classroom that provided. The first round was written test. From all of the participants, the best five would be taken for the second round. After half an hour, the committee announced the first round result. The three participants had been chosen (one of them was Vanessa Annabel Twyla), and there were three other participants with the same scores, yet they only looked for two participants. Therefore, the committee gave extra round for them. They were Elizabeth Kezia Wijaya, Zefanya Graciel Mandey and other student from another school. At last, the two participants who would join for the second round were Elizabeth Kezia Wijaya and other student from another school.

The time came for the second round. We took a time and prayed together.
Each participant entered the hall and stepped on the stage. They chose a number of chairs and a number of envelopes. Each envelope filled with some words. In turn, they came forward and spelled the words given. They only had 16 seconds for each word. From five participants, four continued to the final round. Feeling excited, Vanessa Annabel Twyla and Elizabeth Kezia Wijaya went to the final.

Finally, the committee came up with the final result. The first winner was Vanessa Annabel Twyla and the third winner was Elizabeth Kezia Wijaya. We were so happy. We thanked God for the opportunity given.

2015年10月22日星期四，现代山庄民望学校小学部学生在位于Pamulang 的 Mater-Dei 学校参加了英语拼字比赛。此比赛由该校和EF (English First)赞助举办。我校五年级一班吴幸芳同学、五年级二班任蒙及叶雨晨同学代表参加此比赛。

经过简短的介绍， 所有参赛者进入教室进行考试。比赛分为三个回合。第一回合为笔试，此回合将选取前五名最佳成绩进入第二回合。我校的吴幸芳同学在第一回合进入前三名。 因为出现了同分，故主办单位加赛，以取得第四名及第五名。我校的任蒙同学经过了加赛后顺利的取得参加第二回合比赛的资格。

第二回合时所有参赛者被邀请到舞台上，每位参赛者必须抽取座位编号及信封编号。每个信封里已准备好单词。参赛者一个接一个的被邀请往前一步，并在16秒之内拼出该词。五位参赛者中，四位将进入决赛。非常幸运，我校吴幸芳同学和任蒙同学皆进入决赛。

最后，公布得奖者的时刻到了，获得第一名的是我校的吴幸芳同学，而任蒙同学则获得第三名。有如此佳绩，大家都非常开心，我们也感谢上帝给予我们此次珍贵的机会。

Pada Kamis, 22 Oktober 2015 Sekolah Harapan Bangsa \berpartisipasi dalam Kompetisi Spelling Bee. Kompetisi ini diadakan oleh Mater Dei Sekolah dan disponsori oleh English First (EF). Vanessa Annabel Twyla (5A), Elizabeth Kezia Wijaya (5B) dan Zefanya Graciel Mandey (5B) bersaing dengan siswa lainnya.

Setelah briefing singkat, para siswa mempersiapkan diri dan masuk ke kelas yang disediakan. Babak pertama adalah tes tertulis. Dari semua peserta, lima terbaik akan diambil untuk putaran kedua. Setelah setengah jam, panitia mengumumkan hasil putaran pertama. Tiga peserta telah terpilih (salah satu dari mereka adalah Vanessa Annabel Twyla), dan ada tiga peserta lainnya dengan nilai yang sama, namun mereka hanya mencari dua peserta. Oleh karena itu, panitia memberi babak tambahan bagi mereka. Mereka Elizabeth Kezia Wijaya, Zefanya Graciel Mandey dan siswa lainnya dari sekolah lain. Akhirnya, dua peserta yang akan bergabung untuk putaran kedua yang Elizabeth Kezia Wijaya dan siswa lainnya dari sekolah lain.
Sebelum memulai putaran kedua, kami berdoa bersama.
Setiap peserta memasuki lorong dan melangkah di atas panggung. Mereka memilih sejumlah kursi dan sejumlah amplop. Setiap amplop diisi dengan beberapa kata-kata. Pada gilirannya, mereka maju dan mengeja kata-kata yang diberikan. Mereka hanya punya 16 detik untuk setiap kata. Dari lima peserta, empat dilanjutkan ke babak final, Vanessa Annabel Twyla dan Elizabeth Kezia Wijaya masuk ke final.

Akhirnya, panitia datang dengan hasil akhir. Pemenang pertama adalah Vanessa Annabel Twyla dan pemenang ketiga adalah Elizabeth Kezia Wijaya. Kami sangat senang. Kami bersyukur kepada Tuhan atas kesempatan yang diberikan.
