Wednesday, March 2 ahead of the Nyepi Day celebration, Sekiolah Harapan Bangsa Primary School Modernland held a Faith day event online through Google Meet media because we are still in a pandemic situation. However , this did not reduce the sense of wisdom to celebrate Nyepi the next day. The celebration prayer in order to welcome this year’s Nyepi Day was held on Wednesday 2 March , 2022. The religious event was themed on the meaning of Nyepi Day during the pandemic, and the event was attended by students who were Hindus only.
The activity was also very special because it coincided with the Ash Wednesday celebration. The activity was carried out with Dharma Tula (explaining the meaning of Nyepi Day) and continued with a prayer together in order to welcome Nyepi Day in the Saka New Year 1944. The activity began with an opening prayer led by students then continued with the presentation of related material about the meaning of Nyepi Day and Nyepi Day series. Nyepi Day is a holiday that is celebrated once a year to commemorate the Saka New Year. The word “Nyepi” comes from the word lonely, so the celebration of Nyepi Day is carried out by isolating themselves in their respective homes. This holiday falls on the Apisan Sasih Kadasa calendar. The celebration of Nyepi Day aims to calm the mind, be introspective , and reflect on the deeds we have done. On Nyepi Day, we perform four brata called Catur Brata Penyepian which include Amati Gni (not lighting a fire), Amati Karya (not working), Amati Lelungan (not traveling), and Amati Lelanguan (not having fun). After finishing the presentation of the material, he performed the Tri Sandya prayer together with wisdom, followed by watching the Nyepi Day celebration in the Bali area. The next activity was the students coloring the Nyepi Day greeting card as a form of gratitude for all His blessings and closed with a closing prayer. Harapan Bangsa Modernland Elementary School wishes you a happy celebration of Nyepi in the Saka New Year 1944 for Hindu students. May Ida Sang Hyang Widhi Wasa always bestow His wara nugraha on all of us.
