The Vesak Celebration Virtual 2566 Buddhist Era/2022 Sekolah Harapan Bangsa Modernhill Primary was held on Thursday, 19 May 2022. Vesak Celebration is an activity held to commemorate three events: Prince Siddharta’s birth, the enlightenment of the ascetic Gotama, and Buddha Parinibbana. This activity was attended by all students, staff, and teachers of Sekolah Harapan Bangsa Modernhill Primary; this is the time to respect each other’s differences.
The Vesak Celebration was filled with various events, including the reading of the Dhammapada, the performance of students singing Buddhist songs, watching videos about the Vesak meaning from Bhikkhu Sri Subhapanno Mahathera, and watching a story about tolerance.
Ms. Theresia Listiyawati, the school principal, delivered a speech wishing all Buddhist teachers, staff, and students a good Vesak. In addition, remind teachers and students to respect differences to build harmony.
In the video, Bhikkhu Sri Subhapanno Mahathera discusses the idea of valuing diversity as a means of fostering harmony. Bhikkhu Sri Subhapanno Mahathera explained the significance of the Vesak Celebration, instructed us on how to live a happy life, and urged us to practice tolerance in our daily lives.
Overall, Vesak 2566 BE/2022 events worked smoothly; all students, teachers, and staff were very cooperative and eager after this occasion.
