Is revising really that important? While most would say it is, others would beg to differ. As a student of SHB Cambridge, it’s not unusual to be hearing the importance of revising every day. We were always told that if you’re revising your material daily, you’ll have a much easier time studying during the exams. Personally, I couldn’t agree more.
Throughout last year’s term 4 exams, it was proven to me first-hand how much of a difference revising makes. Usually, studying would take hours and hours on end. However, with revising, I found myself taking reduced amounts of time to study and even had a better time recalling and understanding the material. As a result, I could spend additional time sleeping instead of studying until the break of dawn.
While revising is effective, it does take determination. Revising requires you to read over and understand the topic periodically which makes it quite demanding, especially if you have a busy schedule. Furthermore, it’s also extremely important to maintain a balance between revising and resting. As my biology teacher once said, “Health is first and foremost”.
