The Mid-Autumn Festival and Open House Sekolah Harapan Bangsa

The Mid-Autumn Festival and Open House Sekolah Harapan Bangsa held on

Friday, September 23, 2022, was a day that the students of  Sekolah Harapan Bangsa Modernland will definitely remember. After the Covid 19 pandemic, the students, teachers and especially our Mandarin teachers were  celebrating the Mid-Autumn Festival face to face even though the implementation was  simple. This activity is an activity held every year. Sekolah  Harapan Bangsa  not only emphasizes the implementation of the Chinese language curriculum but also introduces Chinese culture to students.

So on that day the school atmosphere seemed different from usual. Students and teachers wore  Cheongsam/traditional Chinese attire. They also held various activities such as games, coloring, singing, the 9th version of Chinese Gymnastics and poetry reading. Everything was done in Mandarin. The activity was divided into several groups. Grades 1 and 2 in the Primary Hall , grades 3-4 also in the Primary Hall and grade 5 on the 4th floor Cambridge. Grade 6 held a Mooncake celebration with Cambridge students on Wednesday, September 21, 2022.

Another activity that was quite interesting was the Open House related to the 27th anniversary of  Sekolah Harapan Bangsa . This event was held at the Admissions Hall and was attended by around 50 parents who were interested in joining Sekolah Harapan Bangsa Modernland Tangerang . The Open House event included presentations from Ms Maria (the Principal of Preschool) and Ms Emy (the Principal of Primary). After that the students held a performance in front of their parents and guests. From the kindergarten division they performed movements and songs about ‘Moon Cake' , and the primary school division performed Indonesia Raya. Viola from the 3rd grade, sang  solo in Mandarin. Nickenzo, also from the 3^rd  grade, and Kelvin from 4 C and Josia from 5 C read short poems in Chinese. There were also two other students who read short poems in English, namely Lexia from 1A and Cedric from 2C .

It is hoped that from this activity, both students and parents will get to know the advantages of  Sekolah Harapan Bangsa which emphasizes the mastery of Mandarin as a provision for students to face global competition in the future.
