“Mommy, I made doughnuts. I became a chef!” the little girl excitedly when her mom picked her up. It was a real story from our fun cooking activity because the students were given the opportunity to decorate the doughnuts.
“Little Master Chef-Fun Cooking” was held last October 19, 2022. We started the activity in the morning by making a chef’s hat. The chef’s hat we made is very cute and nice. After that, the teacher puts on an apron for each student and the chef’s hat that we made before. And from here, we can already imagine how exciting it is to be a chef. All the students are ready to decorate the doughnuts.
The teacher distributes a box containing four plain doughnuts, four toppings, and a pair of plastic hand gloves to each student. At this step, the teacher asks each student to put on their plastic gloves. After that, the teacher explains the steps for decorating doughnuts and invites students to do what has been shown. They draw happy faces, batik patterns, and sprinkles.
Before we went home, we took pictures in class. The students were happy and couldn’t wait to tell the story of their experience to their parents and family members.
