To celebrate the Youth Pledge Day which falls on October 28, 2022, Harapan Bangsa School also holds a Youth Pledge Event. In this Youth Pledge, teachers and students are required to wear their own traditional clothes. However, if they don't have traditional clothes, they can use batik.
The Youth Pledge event will begin with a flag ceremony which will be held on the volleyball court, then the students will go to the auditorium to continue with several performances and competitions, such as:
The Gema Nusantara performance is an event featuring traditional dances like the Kecak dance and the Tor Tor dance which will be performed by the Gema Nusantara team of students from grade 7 to grade 12.
The Traditional Dress Show Competition is a competition where two representatives from each class (from grades 7 to 12) will wear traditional clothes according to the names that have been drawn and will walk on stage like a fashion show.
The Speech Contest, that will be held at this event, will take a maximum of two people who will make and then give the speech. The theme of the speech is “The Role of Students in Maintaining Social and Cultural Values”.
Then the event will end with a Potluck event. Potluck will be held on the basketball court. In this Potluck event, each class will bring their own food to eat together. The recommended foods and drinks are:
– Market snacks: lemper, onde-onde, risol, pastel, lapis cake, cucur cake, and so on.
– Gorengan: bakwan, bala-bala, tahu, tempe, cireng, and so on.
– Foods that do not use too much plastic wrap.
– No soda-based drinks.
