The theme of the internship program of Sekolah Harapan Bangsa is to prepare students
with 21st-century skills to foster students' critical thinking skills, creativity, collaboration, and communication. Currently, the internship programs are not only carried out by college students or students from vocational schools, but high school students undergo internship programs to help them determine college majors that suit their passion and talent. The internship program provides an overview of the work they will do in the future.
The internship program lasts for eight days in both profit-oriented and non-profit-oriented
organizations. Nineteen students chose a for-profit organization as a place for internships in
various business fields. The details are as follows: banking (Bank Sinarmas and BPR Universal)
and insurance (Astra Buana and Jasa Raharja), services (MRT, Astrapay, and broom.id), printing services, water treatment, plastic waste processing, gold shops, rice shops, and a coal trading company. Some of these companies are part of the family business of the students. While the other two students chose non-profit organizations, namely the police, and universities as places for internships.
After the internship, students are required to present the results of the internship activities
which are assessed by a panel of judges of competent teachers. Later a student with the best presentation will be selected from the Science and Social Studies majors. The student with the best presentation will again present the results of their internship in front of their underclassmen and their parents. Students present their internship results using templates from the Canva website. In addition, they are required to prepare papers in three languages, namely Indonesian, English, and Mandarin. Presentation slides and papers will be student projects for related subjects.
The material for their presentation includes a company profile of where the internship
takes place which includes history, business processes, and business models. Second, the
activities carried out by students during the internship from the first day to the last day. The third is the benefits felt by students after participating in internship activities. And the last one is constructive input from students to improve their internship institutions.
