“Glory to Allah and Peace on Earth”

The culture of celebrating Christmas is a good sign of how Harapan Bangsa School is aware of God's role in the journey of service in the world of Indonesian education. This is also an important lesson for every person within the Harapan Bangsa School family; In fact, the more educated a person is, the more he realizes that he is weak and at this point he relies on God as the source and goal of all human activities.

When Jesus was born, the shepherds were given news by an angel of God. In fear they were given great joy; even that liking will cover the whole world. “Today a Savior was born to you, namely Christ the Lord, in the city of David. You will find a baby wrapped in swaddling clothes and lying in a manger. And suddenly there appears together with the angel a large number of the heavenly host praising God, saying: “Glory to God in the highest and peace on earth among people who please Him.” The last phrase from the quotation from the second chapter of the Gospel of Luke is the Christmas theme for Harapan Bangsa School Elementary School in 2023, “Glory to God and Peace on Earth”. In fact, this theme is the same as the 2023 National Christmas theme.

The 2023 Christmas celebration which will be held on Wednesday, December 14 will be celebrated with great fanfare. The committee invited Rev. Mariana Tanudjaja, S. Pd, to provide motivation to students, teachers and staff. One of the important points conveyed by Rev. Mariana Tanudjaja, S. Pd was that children should increasingly appreciate all of God's creation.

This Christmas Together Celebration was also combined with charitable activities in the form of a sign of love to Rumah Fajar Baru, an orphanage run by nuns from the Putri Reinha Rosary (PRR) congregation located in Cimanggis, Mekarsari, Depok, West Java.

The presentations of the students from each class further enlivened this Christmas Together event. Singing, dancing and drama really depict the happiness of all members of the Harapan Bangsa Elementary School family; an indicator that all people at Harapan Bangsa School have a “sense of belonging” to this beloved school.
