Chinese New Year Celebration

On a beautiful morning,  Tuesday February 20, 2024 at 8 am, Sekolah Harapan Bangsa Primary School held Chinese New Year activities. The aim of this event was for all children to gather in the SHB 3 auditorium to celebrate Chinese New Year together.

The event was opened by three MCs presenting and greeting the children. Then Ms Joice gave us an opening prayer, and continued with Mr Purnawan Sutiono and Ms Emy giving opening remarks. The first event was a dragon and lion dance performance by the lion dance team from the Junior and Senior High  School . Then the event continued with performances from the primary school students , namely dance performances from the extracurricular ballet and modern dance, singing performances from students from grades 1-6, taekwondo and the pianika ensemble. The most eagerly awaited performance was the liong and lion dance performances from the junior high school lion dance team. The children were very enthusiastic about giving ang pao to the lion dancers. Before the event ended, Ms Kristina delivered a closing prayer.

Before going home, each child received an ang pao and a Chinese New Year goodie bag.The children were obviously very happy and today's activities ran smoothly. Happy Chinese New Year.
