On February 24, 2024, we had a special visitor: a firefighter. KB students had the opportunity to learn alongside the BPBD Tangerang City team. The Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order requires all educational facilities to conduct a fire risk assessment. Fire drills are an important part of ensuring students' safety in schools. All students practiced fire drills by calmly lining up, walking with their heads down, covering their noses with tissue, and then following the teacher to an open area. Fires can occur unexpectedly, and schools must be prepared to handle such emergencies effectively. These drills are designed to help students respond appropriately in the event of a fire, as well as to ensure that everyone understands how to safely and quickly evacuate the building. Students should be prepared for an emergency so that they know how to act quickly and calmly when it occurs.
Following the fire drill, the BPBD team explained the tools they use at work as well as their functions, showed them their uniform, and had them put on boots and trousers, a jacket, a hat, a balaclava, a face mask, and gloves, provided a fire extinguishing simulation and explained what to do in the event of a fire caused by a gas leak at home.
Finally, everyone got a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to ride in the fire engine! See you all again at our next preschool event!
