Tirta Yatra 2024

On Monday, March 18, 2024, Hindu students at Sekolah Harapan Bangsa – Modernland held a Tirta Yatra to commemorate the Galungan, Kuningan, and Nyepi New Year Caka 1946. This activity is performed regularly as part of Sekolah Harapan Bangsa’s vision and mission, emphasizing knowledge, faith, and character. The purpose of this activity is to deepen students’ spirituality and hope to foster faith in experiencing their Hindu beliefs.

The Tirta Yatra event ran smoothly and effectively. The ceremony at Tangerang’s Kerta Jaya Temple began with an opening prayer and a brief welcome from the temple caretakers. This was followed by a collective prayer session that began with the chanting of Kidung Warga Sari (sacred songs), Puja Tri Sandya, Kramaning Sembah, and the presentation of Tirta Wangsupada as a symbol of grace from Ida Sang Hyang Widhi Wasa.

This year’s Tirta Yatra was particularly significant because it coincided with three holy days in March: Galungan, Kuningan, and Nyepi.  SHB Modernland students prayed together in gratitude for the universe’s blessings of health, safety, and peace. Following the solemn prayer session, the students continued to distribute Dana Punia to instill compassion for others. Then there was an introduction to the buildings at Tangerang’s Kerta Jaya Temple, followed by a closing prayer and group photo session.

These activities aim to promote unity, deepen religious understanding, and foster empathy for others and the environment, all of which are consistent with the values of Sekolah Harapan Bangsa.
