Mid-Autumn Festival Celebration 2024

On Tuesday, September 17, 2024, Primary School Harapan Bangsa  held a singing competition in Mandarin at the Sekolah Harapan School Gymnasium to celebrate the joyful Mid-Autumn Festival under the theme “Reunion of People Under the Full Moon.”

The Mid-Autumn Festival is an important traditional festival for the Chinese people. Students actively registered to participate in this competition. Through the preliminary rounds, outstanding singers from each class were selected to advance to the next final round.

The competition began after a speech by the principal, Mrs. Emy. Starting with grades 1 – 3, the participants waited in the waiting room next to the stage. After the performances from grades 1 to 3, the event continued with the dance “míngyuè jǐshí yǒu” performed by the principal , Ms Anik , Ms Joice , Ms Santy and Ms Devi . After the dance performance, participants from grades 4 to 6 took the stage, and after their performances, there was a special performance by Ms. Anik, Ms. Indri, and Ms. Vero, three teachers who sang the Mandarin song “yue liang daibiao wo de xin.” The teachers’ outstanding performance received great applause from all the students.

After the singing competition ended, the list of winners was announced, followed by certificate presentations, prize distribution, and group photo-taking.

The singing competition contestants were very happy and confident. They not only showcased their singing abilities but also helped preserve their cultural heritage. Other students who did not participate cheered for the contestants and clapped enthusiastically after each performance.

For this event, the Mandarin teachers had been teaching Mandarin songs for several months in advance. This competition received support from parents, cooperation from teachers, and positive responses from the students. Under the guidance of the principal, Mrs. Emy, all departments worked together, and the event was successfully completed.
