On Friday, October 25 2024, Sekolah Harapan Bangsa students took part in a field trip to Sentul, Bogor. This trip aims to build character through activities that support cooperation, responsibility and care. With great enthusiasm, the students went with their accompanying teachers, bringing enthusiasm for learning and having fun outside the classroom.
Upon arrival at the location, the activity began with introductions between the students and their accompanying seniors who would guide them throughout the day. After the atmosphere became more familiar, the students were divided into small groups consisting of 12 people. This division allowed each student to participate more actively and get closer to each other, which was expected to strengthen cooperation in every challenge they would face.
Giant Volleyball Game
The first game involved was giant volleyball, where students used a large ball that required the strength of the entire team to pass and keep the ball from falling. This challenge required them to coordinate with each other, learn to listen to directions, and provide support to teammates. When the ball bounced or fell, the students laughed and tried again, strengthening the bond between them.
Giant Worm Balloon Game
After the giant volleyball game, the students continued the activities with a giant worm balloon game. Each group held onto a long, worm-shaped balloon and had to walk in rhythm towards the finish line without falling or getting out of line. This challenge required patience and balance, and each team maintained unity to keep their giant worm straight. The team slipped several times, but they kept trying while encouraging each other and learning the importance of synergy in achieving goals.
Final Game: Keeping the Candle Burning
To conclude the activity, the students took part in a meaningful game. In this final challenge, a teacher held a lit candle, and the students' task was to protect the candle so that it stayed lit to the finish line, facing gusts of wind and several small obstacles. The students formed a protective circle around the teacher and the candle, working together with great care and focus. They kept their distance and protected the candle from going out, a symbol of togetherness and care for each other. This challenge taught them the importance of patience and unity in protecting something valuable.
When they finally managed to reach the finish line without the candle being extinguished , they cheered happily, proud of their efforts and teamwork throughout the day. This final game was a memorable finale with the students taking home lessons about cooperation, patience, and looking out for each other.
