Celebrating Earth Day with the Kertabumi: Small Move to a Cleaner Planet

In celebration of Earth Day, on April 25, 2025, Sekolah Harapan Bangsa Preschool Modernland proudly partnered with Kertabumi to promote environmental awareness and responsible waste management. This special event focused on educating students about the importance of reducing, reusing, and recycling — the core principles of the 3R initiative.

The Kertabumi played a role in guiding our school community on how to properly separate and manage plastic, metal, and paper waste. With their support, students and teachers worked together to organize a mini recycling station at the school, encouraging everyone to contribute sorted waste and learn how it can be repurposed. They bring the recyclable waste from home to school to learn together on that day.

One of the highlights of the Earth Day event was the 3R Project Exhibition, where students showcased their creativity by making useful and artistic items from recycled materials. They made various crafts from plastic bottles and cardboard, including functional stationery holders and cute piggy banks. The students demonstrated how waste can be transformed into something valuable with a little imagination and effort.Students not only learnt practical skills but also developed a stronger sense of environmental responsibility as a result of their meaningful collaboration with Kertabumi. Earth Day 2025 has served as a powerful reminder that even small actions, such as sorting waste or reusing old materials, can make a big difference for our planet.
