SHB Independence Day Celebration 2025

On August 19, 2025, SHB prepared a ceremony and event to commemorate the 80th anniversary of Indonesia’s Independence Day. The OSIS leaders picked some of SHB’s OSIS members. According to one of the members who prepared it, the preparation took around a month.

The students needed to wear the SHB uniform at the ceremony and bring an extra pair of white or red clothes. The ceremony was held around 7.30 AM, though there was some delay because of the weather. The first plan was to have the ceremony at SHB Primary School, but since the weather was bad, the school decided to have it in the badminton court of SHB Junior and Senior School. The “Paskibra” needed around 3 weeks to train for the ceremony and was taught by Mr. Bayu and Mr. Darto. When the required space to move and stay in the junior and senior school was too small for the earlier plan, it was decided that they had to change their plan to a simpler one. One of the members said their opinion was that “For this year’s practice, I think that the practice was a little bit useless for the days we spent because we ended up not using the earlier practice or move at the ceremony but whatever it is we still have to give our best for the school because the school have gave us their trust for this ceremony. “  

The event has food stands, competitions like “Tarik Tambang, Bola Bebas, etc…” The competition was held indoors on the basketball court, while the food stand was outside. Based on some of the students who were questioned about the event, including me, most said that it was pretty enjoyable, there were tons of games, and they could make new friends. However, others noted that it was okay because it wasn’t interactive, but the food at the stand was really delicious. An example of a student review about the event was, “I wouldn’t say it was very fun. Only those who participated in competitions could enjoy the event. However, the food stalls had very delicious snacks. Most students spent half the day eating while speaking with their friends.” At the event, most areas with most students are at the food stand and seats, but some of the students cheered for their class to give motivation.
