Last year, I chose the English club because I wanted to try new extracurricular activities other than painting. What we do there is pretty simple: play games and interact with clubmates. The teacher provides lots of games, including board games and card games. The teacher would also join in with the students to play together.
One time, I played Clue with my clubmates. It’s a mystery game about finding out who the killer is, what weapon they used, and where the murder took place. Each player has cards that include weapons, locations, and suspects. We need to ask the person to our left or right about the weapon, location, and suspect. Each player has a card with hints about the killer, weapon, location, and suspect. If the player has one of the cards, they must show it secretly to the one asking. After gathering evidence, you can make an accusation; if you’re correct, you win, and if you aren’t, then you lose. It’s an entertaining game, try it.
There’s another game, a board game called Scrabble, where 2-4 players form words by placing lettered tiles on the board, using tiles from a pool. The goal of the game is to gain the highest amount of points. Points are calculated by adding up the value of each letter in a word. Certain squares give bonus points like “Double Letter Score” and “Triple Word Score”. This game is entertaining, it improves my spelling, and I’m able to explore new words I’ve never heard of.
That’s my experience with the English club, it’s really fun and I enjoyed it. My favorite game to play is probably Clue. I like mystery games. It makes me think harder.
