On Monday, November 3rd, 2025, Sekolah Harapan Bangsa Elementary welcomed the medical team from Cikokol Health Center for the BIAS (School Children Immunization Month) program. This annual activity aims to maintain students’ health and strengthen their immunity against tetanus and diphtheria.
Prior to the event, parents had received a circular letter and Google Form to complete the BIAS 2025 consent form. The students’ immunization records were reviewed beforehand. The health officers arrived in the morning and were warmly greeted by the school.
The activities included:
The event began with Grade 1 students—41 children received DT shots. Most of them were cooperative, though a few felt nervous or cried during the injection. Thanks to the teachers’ and principal’s support, the process went smoothly.
Next, 32 Grade 2 students received Td immunizations after undergoing health checks (eyes, ears, mouth, and skin). The immunization session went well, although one student developed a mild fever two hours later. The student was cared for in the school clinic, given medicine, and recovered after observation.
Fifty-four Grade 5 students then received their Td immunizations calmly. Only one student needed encouragement before being vaccinated. Health checks for Grades 3 and 4 followed, while the session for Grade 6 was rescheduled due to limited time.
The BIAS 2025 program concluded at 12:30 PM. The health officers departed, and the students happily returned home.
