“OSIS Election Day”

This Monday and Wednesday were among the most intense experiences I've ever had. Sekolah Harapan Bangsa held elections on 9 and 11th February 2026, during which 3 pairs of candidates presented themselves and were voted in as the Student Council’s president and vice president. Of course, as I said before, all the candidates worked very hard for this, and it was a tough competition, if I had to say so.

On Monday, 9th February 2026, at exactly 2.10 pm, all the students from junior and senior high school gathered in the auditorium to hear the candidates present their visions, missions, and work programs. It started with the junior high school candidates' presentations, then the senior high school candidates' presentations, all of which were incredible in their own right. The day ended with a Q&A session, where, once again, all the candidates gave impeccable answers.

Finally, the day came, Wednesday 11th February 2026, Election Day. On the day of the announcement, everyone was tense. The junior high school students were gathered on the basketball court to cast their own votes. I was pretty panicked and thought I would lose, but I still hoped I might win while my partner was enjoying the election. Then, I heard “Paslon 2 has the most votes.” I was flabbergasted. Had I won? Turns out we won by a landslide with another candidate with only two votes. After that, we started congratulating and supporting each other, and I may have cried a bit because all that hard work finally paid off.

It was a fun experience, and I would like to try again in senior high school someday.  I would want to say congratulations to all of the candidates. I think we all worked hard for it, and it was a tight competition; winning was not just about the title. It was about the trust given to us. Now, we are more motivated than ever to serve responsibly and make a positive difference in our school.
