Valentine’s Day

Valentine's day, also called St. Valentine’s Day, has come! Valentine's day is the time for people to express their affection for their loved ones with greetings and gifts. Valentine's Day is a celebration of love, a time where people express their feelings and tell how much they admire their loved ones. The time for couples to make each other feel special, showering each other with warmth and affection. The time when friends entertain others with gifts like food, flowers and especially chocolates. On Valentine's Day, people usually spend their time hanging out with their loved ones, whether it's a friend or lover. But unfortunately, this time of the year isn’t the right time to gather as of the rise in cases of the “ omicron ” virus.

However, that doesn't mean we couldn't celebrate the special day. Students from the SMA and SMP Harapan Bangsa student council,  have prepared several special Valentine's packages inspired by vintage or 90's love. For the purpose of this 90's love theme, we’d made several packages where the presents and designs were inspired by vintage-themed teenage romantic films. We chose this theme so that teenagers can relate or feel like they’re in the movie themselves. Especially now is an era where “vintage” romantic films and books such as Dilan and Milea, Galih and Ratna, are loved or known by tons of teenagers or people. The packages we provide are Dilan and Milea, Rangga and Cinta, and Galih and Ratna packages. Certainly, the presents and goods in the packages were also 90's Valentine-themed gifts, such as vintage crosswords puzzles, flowers, dolls, chocolates, and even more goods.

When Valentine's Day took place on February 14 this year, all packages ordered by SHB students, students from other schools, and other people including people outside of SHB, were carefully arranged and shipped. Some were delivered directly by the members of the student council, and some are delivered by Gojek delivery to the addresses of friends or lovers of the customers. This way they could still feel the special feeling and beauty of Valentine's Day. We delivered the package on a Monday afternoon. After finishing the school online classes, we immediately arranged the package and the package delivery. We put in the letters that had been made by the customer and we were ready to deliver. When we delivered the packages, there were some students who were surprised because they didn’t expect a Valentine package. Some were happy, some were curious about the person who ordered this package for them. Overall, this year's Valentine's Day was a lot of fun. We also hope that recipients and buyers can enjoy their Valentine's day with Valentine's package from the student council.
