August 30, 2023On Friday, August 18 2023, the 78th Indonesian Independence Day Flag Ceremony was held at Sekolah Harapan Bangsa Elementary School. The ceremony was held at the Sekolah Harapan Bangsa Elementary School football field, Modernland and was attended by the elementary to Cambridge level, Foundation staff and cleaning services. Flag-raising duties were carried out by the Middle School – Cambridge level, and the elementary school students also participated in the combined choir group of 5th grade children under the tutelage of Mr. Cherio.
The leader of the ceremony was Mr. Sujadi (Principal of SMA). In his remarks he stressed that we as the younger generation must move quickly according to the motto of this year's independence “ Terus Melaju untuk Indonesia Maju ”. Also we must move together as today your teachers wore traditional clothes from all corners of the archipelago, they are united in differences.
It didn't feel like the ceremony lasted more than one hour. Even though the weather was quite hot in the morning, the students looked enthusiastic and fully participated in the flag ceremony.
The flag ceremony was also more solemn with the strains of songs sung by the representatives and SD Harapan Bangsa students.
