DEVELOPING CREATIVITY TO IMPROVE UNITY

The Youth Pledge is one of the historical moments in the efforts for the independence of the Republic of Indonesia which was initiated by young people during the pre-independence period. The spirit of the Youth Pledge shown by the young people must be continued so that the Indonesian nation remains united amidst its various differences.

On this day, Sekolah Harapan Bangsa Modernland Primary School students wanted to maintain the spirit of the Youth Pledge. This was commemorated by showing short videos, having short reflections and also developing students' creativity through poster coloring competitions.

Activities of the Youth Pledge commemoration began with all students repeating the contents of the Youth Pledge. The activity continued by watching videos about the process of forming the Youth Pledge, followed by a poster coloring competition with the theme “The Spirit of the Youth Pledge and Creativity”. The students were very enthusiastic about the activities to commemorate the 96th Youth Pledge Day. They competed to show their creativity on their respective poster sheets. The beautiful colors of colored pencils were drawn on white illustrated paper which resulted in a beautiful poster color combination.  This enthusiasm and creativity was even greater because they could receive an award in the form of a championship trophy at the end of today's activities.

At the end of the activity, the students of Sekolah  Harapan Bangsa Primary School gathered in the hall to listen to the announcements of the competition results. The situation was very busy and tense because all the students wanted to hear their name called as the winner. The event hosted by Ms. Cory and Ms Sansan was lively. Finally the names of the winners were announced one by one and the winners stepped forward to the stage with happy faces. Meanwhile, the students who were not announced as winners were a little disappointed and sad, but the excitement of the event was maintained until the end. This spirit, enthusiasm and willingness to accept defeat shows that the students of Sekolah Harapan Bangsa Modernland Elementary School, by developing creativity, can create unity as an implementation of the spirit of the Youth Pledge.
