English Day is an event my school celebrates, alongside Lunar New Year and Christmas. It is a day when students and teachers speak English to improve their speaking skills and confidence. It is arranged by the teachers so that students can have fun while also learning.
This year, our school theme is “Countries and Cultures.” The teachers assign each class a country, and they have to decorate their classrooms accordingly. We had to decorate our class with slideshows, pictures, and replicas of famous landmarks from the country we were given. Every classroom has its own unique look and style because of the country it is assigned to.
During the event, students walked around the school to look at other classrooms. Each class presents information about the country they represent in English. We students talked about the countries, traditions, food, culture, famous places, and fun facts. This event allowed us students to learn about many countries while also practicing our English.
The English Day celebration was both very fun and educational. Students were excited to present their classroom and explore other classrooms, share each other's assigned countries, and showcase the unique beauty of each country. It also helped us understand that speaking, learning, and speaking English can be fun. It also helped us be more confident in speaking English.
So to put it shortly, our English day celebration was a very exciting experience. The theme helped students learn about the differences around the world while improving their English skills. It was a meaningful and educational activity for everyone in school.
