On the 18th of February, SHB Cambridge held their yearly Teacher’s Day and English Day celebration. It is a special day where we show our appreciation to the teachers and test our English skills. On this day, we did plenty of activities: played games with the teachers, class performances and showing our appreciation to teachers by presenting gifts and letters.
We played several games, such as musical chairs, eating battles and a survival game. My favorite was particularly the survival game, where all students had to play to survive. The library was made as a safe room, we tested our English skills by answering grammar questions to enter the room. It was an extremely thrilling game to play. Out of all the games, the house winner was again yellow lions.
The class performances were the main event of the day, as every class started preparing for the performance weeks ago. We had the CS3 and JC1 students dance to viral tiktoks. CS1, CS2, and JC2s show their musical and vocal talents. Lastly, we had the CS4 girls with dance performances representing countries of all teachers. All of them had their unique touches and meaning.
Before we end the day, the students presented their letters and gifts to their assigned teachers. Each class was assigned to 2-3 teachers. Some of the highlights were, CS2 giving a phone to their beloved homeroom teacher, Sir Dave. There was also the touching letter Jackson CS4 wrote for Sir Mayer.
It was by far the best teachers’ day SHB Cambridge has held, all thanks to the hardworking student council. At the end of the day, we all had a great time.
