
Preschool Harapan Bangsa Modernhill on October 26, 27 and 28 held an online Book Days celebration. This activity aims to develop students' love of literature through reading and storytelling. In addition, this activity is also a form of celebration of the multicultural environment of the various languages studied at Harapan Bangsa School, namely; Indonesian, English and Mandarin. Students are taught to appreciate the wealth of the country in terms of culture and language. Book Days activities can improve students' reading, listening and speaking skills, as well as increase their confidence. This activity also fosters children's interest in reading from an early age.
At the Chinese celebration, the students listened to the fairy tales told by Laoshi Mega. After listening to the fairy tales, they were given a question and answer session and also an explanation of the moral values in the story.
At the Indonesian language celebration, Preschool Harapan Bangsa students joined the google meet link for each class. They listened to a story told by a storyteller as well as a ventriloquist, named Kak Budi with the title “Tular-menular”. The students were very enthusiastic about listening to the stories that were displayed using a pop-up book. In addition, there are also shows using dolls with different characteristics and characters.
At the English celebration, the Preschool Harapan Bangsa students listened to a story brought by Ms. Wanda with the title Story of the Stars. Accompanied by a game of ventriloquism from Wanda with the character of a princess from Bali named Jegeg Bulan. After the fairy tale event, there was costume party for the favorite book characters they like. The students were asked to introduce themselves as the character and show their favorite book.
