Celebrating Independence Day is always an interesting occasion among SHB
families. This year’s celebration is even more special especially because it is the first activity carried out offline after two years of online learning. Though still being haunted by Covid 19, the school decided to start a new normal of schooling. In line with the national government’s tagline for the Independence Day “ Recover Faster and Stronger”, the school finds it important to start offline big-scale school events. Of course health protocols are still strictly followed.
The program started with a flag ceremony at 7.am. With a red and white-themed dress code, the students had been assembling at the Tennis Court. They were eager to join the ceremony after two years of online celebrations. The 5th graders did a perfect job in raising the national flag. The hot weather didn’t break their spirit to enjoy the games. The absence of offline flag ceremonies in the last two years can explain this situation. Around 8.30, games were open.
Grade 1-3 students were directed to SHB 5 hall to join fun games like marble
race and flag to the bottle race and many more games. The upper primary students had to join the fun games prepared in the Tennis Court. That way a huge crowd was prevented. The different dismissal schedule was also designed to avoid all students assembling in one area. With all those arrangements, students still enjoyed the activities and got the feeling of independence spirit.
