January 13, 2023The culture of celebrating Christmas is a good sign of how Harapan Bangsa School is aware of God's project in servicing Indonesian’s education. This is also an important lesson for everyone in Harapan Bangsa School family; that the more educated a person is, the more he realizes that he is weak and at this point he relies on God as the source and goal of all human activity.
This joint Christmas celebration in 2022 certainly has a new face in a form and way when the status of the Covid '19 pandemic is no longer as scary as it was two years before. The spirit to get up and take a step is an action that must be done without eliminating standard health protocols. In the post-pandemic era, many things have changed; and indeed, we must change in it. However, tips for building knowledgeable, faithful and characterful people remain the main values of all learning process. In relation to this commitment, the theme: “… So, They Return to Their Country by Another Way”, which is quoted from the Gospel of Matthew 2:12, is very appropriate to wrap up this joint Christmas activity.
The 2022 Christmas celebration was held on Wednesday, December 14 2022. The committee presented Father Petrus Cipto Nugroho, SCJ to provide motivation to students, teachers and staffs. One of the important points conveyed by Father Petrus Cipto Nugroho, SCJ is that the more knowledge and faith we have, the more we care about each other and the environment.
This joint Christmas celebration was also combined with charitable activities in the form of a token of love for Fajar Baru Foundation, an orphanage managed by Sisters from the Putri Reinha Rosary (PRR) congregation located in Cimanggis, Mekarsari, Depok, West Java.
The presentations of the students from each class enlivened this joint Christmas event. Singing, dancing, and drama really describe the happiness of all members of the Harapan Bangsa Junior High School and Senior High School family; an indicator that all people at Harapan Bangsa School have a “sense of belongingness” to this beloved school. Rejoice and Welcome to the Birth of Jesus in all of our hearts and life.
