Flag Ceremony at Secondary Modernhill

Tuesday, January 17 2023, Harapan Bangsa School conducted a routine flag ceremony. The flag ceremony is an activity carried out to foster a sense of nationalism and life values in SHB students. At this ceremony, class 9B was in charge of carrying out the flag ceremony and Mr. Firdaus, as the inspector.

According to Mr. Firdaus, it is human nature to innovate and find solutions to problems. He compared the way ants and humans communicate. Ants communicate with various media such as touch and body language. Like ants, humans also communicate in the same way. Humans learn that distance can be a barrier to communication. Therefore, technologies were created that facilitate communication without worrying about distance and time, such as radio, television, cellphones, and of course the internet. With this, students are asked not to be easily satisfied with what they have achieved. It is in accordance to what Steve Jobs said “Stay Hungry, Stay Foolish”.

Ceremonial activities that are carried out regularly every month are expected to foster a spirit of nationalism and the values conveyed will also add insight and understanding to students that there are things they need to learn and achieve apart from their academic grades.
