Mandarin Day

Mandarin Day is one of the important activities that Harapan Bangsa School continues to carry out. It is an effective way to improve students’ interest in learning Chinese and understand Chinese culture. It is also loved by students.

On April 6, 2023, Harapan Bangsa School Modernhills Middle School held another Chinese Day activity this year after lunch. This activity is unique in that it is divided into classes according to the Chinese class, and each class must prepare two items to participate in the competition. The first project is a Chinese song competition, and the second project is a model competition of Chinese scenic spots and historic sites.

The event was held in the school hall. After the opening prayer, Mr. Zhang Jingbiao, assistant to the school management, delivered a speech first, and then Ms. Melany, the principal of the high school, delivered a speech. The following program brought you a refreshing feeling. As a special guest, the daughter of Teacher Xu, the coordinate of the Chinese Department, performed a stunning guzheng playing and singing for everyone.

In the ensuing competition, each class of students sang Chinese songs on stage. There are “Disciple Rules”, “I Can’t Help It”, “My Future Is Not a Dream”, “Mice Love Rice”, “Let the World Be Filled with Love” and so on.

The highlight of this event is the model of Chinese historical sites. The students not only made the models by hand, but also carefully prepared related PPTs and introduced them in Chinese. Please enjoy their work.

The school dance team also presented a traditional Chinese sleeve dance during the event, which was magnificent.

In the end, the specially invited judges collectively scored and selected the winners. They are: the junior high school group, the first place is the junior middle school class, the second place is the second middle school class, and the third place is the third middle school class; the high school group, the first place The first place is the high school advanced class, and the second place is the high school junior class.
