



On May 17, 2023, Sekolah Harapan Bangsa held a “Cooking Day” activity, namely decorating donuts. It is the 2nd activity this year. The purpose of this activity is to provide new experiences to children, as well as to make children more creative, more independent, and build responsibility for themselves.
The activity started with singing and dancing with led by the PIC. Then proceed with the opening by informing the students what we will do together. Previously the PIC told to the students what ingredients were contained in the food we were going to decorate, such as flour, butter, sugar, salt, and so on. Also informed what toppings will be given to decorate the donuts.
Before starting to decorate, the children were given time to decorate the donut box with stickers and after they had decorated the donut box, they continued to decorate the donuts. Do not forget that all of us/teachers follow hygiene protocols such as children washing their hands afterward using gloves. All the students, start from the PlayGroup, TKA, and TKB classes were very enthusiastic about doing these activities. Each child is free to choose whatever topping they like. Each child gets 4 donuts which they can take home.
After all the children finished decorating the donuts, the activity continued with a Healthy Munch Day activity. The healthy food menu is butter chicken, tofu sapo, fried chicken, vegetable noodles and pudding.
With this activity, kindergarten children are expected to grow self-confidence and be more responsible for themselves. Starting from a simple activity, namely decorating donuts, self-confidence is built.
