Short Film Project

On Monday, May 22, 2023, all students of SMP and SMA Harapan Bangsa gathered in the school auditorium to watch two short films. The first film, entitled ‘Proskuneo,’ was created by the 12th-grade science class, while the second film, ‘Vindicta,’ was made by the 12th-grade social studies class. These short films are part of an annual assignment for the 12th-grade students.

‘Proskuneo’ depicts the story of two school students, Filbert and Revany, who become victims of bullying by their friends. Unexpectedly, Filbert, who is usually weak and helpless, fights back and seeks vengeance. On the other hand, ‘Vindicta’ revolves around the friendship between Humaira and Rachel, who always support each other. Humaira, who often faces mistreatment from her classmates, decides to take revenge by sabotaging a project created by their class.

After the screening of both films, representatives from the 12th-grade science and social studies classes delivered positive messages to all the students. They emphasized the importance of treating others well and not oppressing friends in any manner. Subsequently, a vote was conducted to determine the winner, and the results revealed that the 12th-grade science class emerged victorious with their film, ‘Proskuneo.’ We hope that their work would inspire all the students of Sekolah Harapan Bangsa.
