The 78th Independence Day celebration of the Republic of Indonesia

On Friday, August 18, 2023, Sekolah Harapan Bangsa Modernhill held the 78th Independence Day celebration of the Republic of Indonesia. All school residents wore traditional clothes originating from the island of Sumatra. This year's event had the theme “Digging into Indonesian Culture: Sumatra.” The activity commenced with a flag ceremony led by the master of ceremonies, Mr. Agustinus Joko Purwanto. Participants in the ceremony were reminded of the fighting spirit exhibited by the youth in 1945 for independence.

Following the ceremony, the students collaborated to set up their booths. This was followed by a 5-minute presentation about their assigned areas, showcasing displays and miniatures. To enhance the event's appeal, the students also offered various local foods and drinks as part of the “Traditional Culinary Bazaar & Live Performance” event. Before the event concluded, sate padang with lontong was provided as refreshments for all attending students.
