Unity in Diversity

On Friday 27 October 2023, a very lively event took place at SHB Primary, namely an event to commemorate the Youth Pledge event which falls on 28 October 2023.

The event started with a parade for each class, from class 1A to class 6C, which was enlivened by students wearing their respective traditional clothes. Some wore the traditional clothing of Aceh, Java, Kalimantan, Sulawesi, Maluku, and even traditional Papuan clothing.

They all started the parade from the Primary Hall, walking towards the gym accompanied by homeroom and several other teachers.

Arriving at the gym, the event began with a screening of the film “Wonderland Indonesia” which was watched by students, invited guests and parents.

After the film screening was finished, the event opened with a speech from the principal, namely Ms Emy Sumardja, which was followed by the opening of the youth oath, the reading of Pancasila and the student SHB pledge/SHB by representatives of the SHB Primary students.

The event was very lively accompanied by music starting from class 1 with the song Potong Bebek Angsa, then continuing with class 2 namely Rasa Sayange, then class 3 with Kicir-Kicir. After the students sang, they walked around the stage and gym to greet other class students, invited guests and parents.

After the students from grades 1 – 3 delivered their performances, it was followed by a collaborative performance from representatives of parents and teachers, namely by performing the Alusiau and Jogja Is The Best dances. The teachers and parents, who had been practicing for a long time, performed the dance together using traditional Balinese clothing.

Next, there was another performance from class 4 with the song Suwe Ora Jamu, class 5 with the song Sayang- Sayang Si Patokaan and finally from class 6, namely Bungong Jeumpa. Today’s student activities closed with a group photo with the homeroom teachers and the distribution of medals to students who wore regional clothing as a form of SHB Primary’s appreciation for them.
