With heartfelt gratitude and boundless enthusiasm, we are delighted to present the series of scouting activities, SHB Camp 2023. This endeavor stands as a tangible manifestation of our unwavering commitment to nurturing the potential of scouting members and making a positive impact on shaping the character of the younger generation. Scouting, as a non-formal education platform, plays a pivotal role in molding personality, leadership skills, and various competencies in students.
The meticulous design of this activity stems from a profound understanding of the needs and potential of scouting members in our environment. Our objective is to provide valuable experiences, foster teamwork, and enrich the knowledge and skills of our scouting community.
Taking place on November 2 – 3, 2023, spanning 2 days and 1 night, the event commenced with participant registration at 07:00 AM. The opening ceremony, led by William Mahan Doloksaribu from grade 12, took place from 07:30 to 08:00 AM, with Dr. Agustinus Joko Purwanto guiding the proceedings. During the ceremony, the significance of the camp as an opportunity to cultivate students' skills and independence was emphasized.
The comprehensive agenda of the activity covered materials related to scouting and incorporated elements from the students' routine Wednesday exercises. Following the inspection of students' equipment, the program commenced with marching training led by military personnel. It further included the provision of General Proficiency Requirements (SKU) materials, a prerequisite for inauguration as a Scout member. Evening activities featured a cooking competition and tent setup, followed by a campfire and art performances. Mrs. Sisilia Juni Arianti, the campfire ceremony guide, emphasized the importance of embodying a spirit like a burning fire, spreading benefits like a flame, and maintaining self-control to be useful to the surrounding environment.
On the second day, participants engaged in exploration activities in the surroundings of SHB 4. The trekking activity comprised several stations, covering themes such as religion and tolerance, pioneering, compass usage, first aid, and agility games. Upon returning to school, students prepared for the closing ceremony, which commenced at 10:30 AM. The ceremony included an evaluation of the activity and closing remarks by Dr. Agustinus Joko Purwanto, concluding with students heading home at 11:00 AM on Saturday.
All our endeavors aim to achieve the holistic goals of scouting development, encompassing physical, social, mental, and spiritual intelligence aspects. We acknowledge that the success of this activity would not have been possible without the support and cooperation of all relevant parties. Therefore, we extend our deepest gratitude to everyone who contributed to the success of SHB Camp 2023.
