The background of Student Leadership Basic Training (LDKS) usually encompasses an understanding of the needs and challenges in developing student leadership within the school environment. The development of student leadership is considered crucial in shaping character, responsibility, and interpersonal skills. Student leadership becomes a key factor in creating a conducive school environment for learning and personal development.
The LDKS activities at Modernhill Harapan Bangsa School were held on Friday, November 24, 2023, from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM. The LDKS commenced with an opening speech by Dr. Agustinus Joko Purwanto. In his address, he conveyed a message encouraging sincere participation, emphasizing its significance as valuable preparation for students in their future organizational roles.
The content covered in this LDKS is expected to provide students with the knowledge needed for effective organization. The first session, presented by Mr. Anton Fitrianto, focused on organizational aspects, including the objectives and the process of forming an organization to ensure mutual complementation among its members. The second session, led by Mr. Salsabil Firdaus, continued with developing students' communication skills through training on expressing opinions and speaking publicly. The goal is for students to articulate opinions or information effectively in public settings.
The third session, delivered by Mr. Aji Wahyu Budiyanto, covered leadership. In this session, students were guided on recognizing their own abilities, especially in their leadership styles. By understanding their leadership capabilities, students are expected to implement them in their unique ways. The final session addressed group dynamics, presented by Mr. Johan, involving group activities that trained students to collaborate, find solutions to problems, and understand how to lead by giving commands that must be followed by group members.
The group dynamics activity also served as the conclusion of the LDKS for that day, followed by the closing ceremony at 5:20 PM. During the closing ceremony, Dr. Agustinus Joko Purwanto emphasized that students who participated in LDKS should implement and serve as role models for others at Harapan Bangsa School. Leadership training should be based on a holistic approach, integrating cognitive, emotional, and behavioral aspects. Additionally, constructive feedback and self-reflection can assist students in effectively developing their leadership skills.
