Harapan Bangsa Modernhill High School conducted a Live-in activity from January 30 to February 2, 2024. The goal was to provide students with direct learning experiences in the community and outdoor environments, focusing on projects related to their school subjects.
The activity commenced on Tuesday, January 30, 2024, at 06:00 WIB with an opening ceremony led by the Principal, Dr. Agustinus Joko Purwanto, S.Pd., M.M. Students then traveled by bus to the Dieng Kulon Tourism Village, Banjarnegara, Central Java. Upon arrival at 19:00 WIB, they were greeted with traditional Central Javanese lengger music and dance at the Soeharto Wihliam Pendopo. The evening included the opening ceremony, dinner, registration, and assigning homestays with foster parents for each participant.
On Wednesday, January 31, 2024, students began the day with prayers according to their beliefs, followed by trekking activities to Scoter Hill. They learned about potato and Carica fruit plantations and had breakfast together on Scoter Hill. Workshops on making wooden batik crafts and painting hats were conducted, and students visited the carica production site to learn about the production process and marketing. After a break and lunch, cultural discussion activities were held for IPS students, and science students visited PT. Geo Dipa Geothermal. In the evening, students participated in learning traditional music and the lengger dance.
Thursday, February 1, 2024, started with breakfast followed by visits to Sikidang Crater, Dieng Plateau Theater, Telaga Warna, Arjuna Temple Complex, and Kailasa Museum. The day concluded with a traditional music and dance competition between classes and a closing event with souvenirs given from the school to the Dieng Kulon Tourism Village.
On Friday, February 2, 2024, all participants gathered at 4 am to trek to Sikunir Hill and witness the sunrise. Afterward, they returned to the homestay to pack and have breakfast before departing for school, arriving safely at 22:00 WIB. The 2024 Live-in activity aimed to instill a love for nature and the environment while fostering positive values in each participant.
