Harapan Bangsa Modernhill Elementary School has students from a variety of different backgrounds such as ethnics, cultures and religions. These diversities help students learn to respect each other and accept differences. With these differences, students also practice being tolerant towards each other. In addition, through this activity the Harapan Bangsa Modernhill School also prepares its students to further develop their spiritual attitudes and grow their faith in God. This Faith Day activity was carried out by inviting all students to hold ceremonies / worship according to their respective religions. Students from different classes joined together based on their respective religions to carry out spiritual activities accompanied by teachers.
This year Faith Day’s theme is “Tolerance Makes Life More Beautiful”. The activity commenced by having all students gather in the hall to watch performances of students from each religion. This aimed to foster a sense of love for religious and cultural diversity as well as tolerance for other religions. After the performances were finished, the event then continued with worship according to their respective religions; for instance, Muslim students performed the Sunnah Dhuha and Tausiyah prayers together led by Umi Kiky, the Islam religion teacher. Christian and Catholic students participated in the Easter Celebration Service together which was then followed by activities to decorate and color Easter eggs. Hindu students prayed at Pura Amrta Jati Cinere to ask for safety, health and peace for the universe. Buddhist students worshiped at the Avalokitesvara Vihara in Pondok Cabe. Students were then introduced to the Kuti Dhammasala room. In the library room, they did Puja Bakti, donated lunch funds to the monks to strengthen their faith and eventually closed the activities with a group photo.
