On Friday, March 22 2024, activities outside the classroom were held for grades 5 and 6. Each child was assigned a group consisting of grades 5A – 5C and 6A – 6C. This activity, which lasted approximately 8 sessions, was attended by Ms Devy as SHB Primary School Counselor and Mr Lukas, the SHB Headmaster.
These 8 sessions were divided into 2 sessions. Each child had 2 sessions and they alternated with each other. Groups 1-6 were filled by Mr Lukas and Groups 7 – 11 were filled by Ms Devy with 2 group games and the distribution of “Star of the Month” awards.
The children were very enthusiastic about playing games with Mr Lukas and with Ms Devy.
Mr Lukas presented material about the 7Cs, namely “concentrate, caption, curiosity, communication, collaboration, consistent and contribution”. This material was delivered through group activities, namely making work using a table as the main medium, cardboard, raffia, and several other supporting tools. The activities carried out by each group were closed by the distribution of prizes to the winners who were best able to convey the results of their work, namely in the form of vouchers. In the sessions with Ms Devi, Ms Devi divided the groups into 2 activity sessions.
The first session was “The Wind Blows”. All children were asked to make a big circle and carry out the instructions according to Ms Devy's orders. There were several children who did not play because they had hand injuries, but this did not hinder the children's enthusiasm for playing the game.
In the second game, Ms Devy also involved all the children and they were asked to find playing partners who turned out to be their rivals. They were asked to follow Ms Devy's instructions and fight over the pen which was in the middle of the group. While singing the song head, shoulders knees and toes , the children were very enthusiastic about winning this game.
The session with Ms Devy ended with the distribution of the Star of the Month certificates for Care and Tolerance.
All the children enjoyed these two activities as they not only played, but they were taught to reflect on these activities in their daily lives.
