Sekolah Harapan Preschool—Modernhill constantly creates a fun and engaging learning environment for young learners. The English Day 2024: Pyjama Party event, for example, has evolved into a whimsical gathering that emphasises preschoolers' English language skills in addition to having fun and playing games.
Every classroom was filled with children dressed in their favourite pyjamas, clutching teddy bears and other cherished stuffed animals. The atmosphere is cosy and welcoming, with soft lighting, pillows, and blankets scattered throughout for a true bedtime story experience. The excitement in the air is palpable as the young students prepare to show off their developing English skills in front of teachers and classmates through games, storytelling, singing, and rhymes. This activity boosts their confidence in speaking English while also improving their vocabulary and comprehension skills.
At this event, the preschoolers have the opportunity to learn practical life skills by independently preparing breakfast food and drinks. They learn to initiate and complete tasks independently and are encouraged to follow basic English instructions. It is wonderful to see the kids having casual English conversations while eating healthy treats. This informal setting allows them to practise everyday language skills, such as politely asking for or sharing snacks or discussing their favourite part of the day.
The preschool pyjama party is more than just a fun gathering; it is a creative and effective way for young children to demonstrate and improve their English skills. English Day events like these are essential in fostering a love for the language and building a strong foundation for future learning. We look forward to seeing you all again at our next event.
