I was excited and nervous at the same time as I took my first Cambridge Checkpoint exam on April 24, 2024. Taking the exam seemed like a major moment for me after all the practice exams. I was relieved to hear a knowledgeable teacher say, “Do your best and let God do the rest,” which reduced my tension.
I needed more practice papers for English, so I concentrated mostly on science and math during my preparation. My study strategy was going over what I had studied in prior semesters and making an effort to understand any topic I found difficult. My teachers were very helpful. They gave me a ton of previous papers, assisted me in reviewing key ideas, and conducted a practice exam. It was because of this assistance that I felt more equipped.
Stress reduction was significantly enhanced by studying with friends. We practiced together, talked about difficult subjects, and provided support to one another. Working together made studying less intimidating and more productive.
When the first exam day, which was devoted to science, arrived, my immediate anxiety subsided. Given that the test was only going to last 45 minutes and award 50 marks, I initially didn't think I would finish. Although the questions were difficult, we could handle them because we were accustomed to the style and kinds of questions that were asked. Math was the last day. I went to the mall with my buddies to celebrate passing that difficult test by getting ice cream.
Overall, the exam went well since I studied well, had great support from my professors and family, and received the assistance of friends. I feel confident and ready for the remaining exams, knowing that my preparation and teamwork have prepared me for success.
