Indonesia is a nation which is rich in linguistic, customary, and cultural diversity. This diversity is a crucial asset in realizing the ideals of the nation. In line with this, the celebration of Indonesia’s Independence Day at Harapan Bangsa Primary School Modernhill this year adopted the theme of Nusantara Cultural Richness. The Independence Day celebration this year included several activities, such as art competitions (coloring and Nusantara motifs), a flag ceremony, a cultural parade, and traditional Indonesian games.
A notable feature of this year's Independence Day celebration is the cultural parade and the participation of student parents who dressed in Malay traditional costume, along with performances of Malay dances that have been prepared. During the cultural parade, teachers and students had the opportunity to learn about the various cultures of the Nusantara and to showcase their traditional dancing skills. The Independence Day event proceeded smoothly thanks to the involvement of parents, both in participating in the flag ceremony and during the cultural parade. We also appreciate the support and assistance from parents in documentation, particularly during the competitions at each level. The traditional games, such as the tug-of-war competition were also exciting and engaging to watch. All the students of Harapan Bangsa Primary School were enthusiastic about participating in the games, despite having to do so under the scorching sun.
