Every year, Indonesia celebrates its independence with great enthusiasm and national pride. At Sekolah Harapan Bangsa Modernhill, this year's celebration was held under the theme “The Spirit of Sulawesi Tradition for an Advanced Indonesia.” The festivities began with a flag-raising ceremony performed by the Paskibra team, consisting of 10 students. With great enthusiasm and unity, they successfully raised the Red and White flag on the flagpole—a powerful symbol of the nation's fighting spirit and solidarity.
Following the flag-raising ceremony, the event continued with a captivating performance by the formation team, showcasing stunning choreography. The beauty and precision of their movements in orderly formations evoked a deep sense of pride in the nation's cultural heritage. The celebration continued with several junior high and high school students performing the Pakarena dance, a traditional dance from Sulawesi. This dance not only highlights the beauty of Sulawesi's culture but also reflects the richness of Indonesia's diverse traditions.
The lively celebration was further energized by various traditional games that added to the festive atmosphere. From Kulkuk, Bakiak Race, and Eating Crackers to Gobak Sodor, Nyunggi Tampah, and Sack Race, all these games were enjoyed with great enthusiasm by the students. These activities were more than just entertainment; they were a means of preserving culture and reminding everyone of the importance of togetherness and cooperation. Through the spirit displayed in these activities, the celebration of Indonesian independence at this school truly conveyed the importance of preserving and promoting local traditions for the advancement of Indonesia as a whole.
