JHS SHS Modernhill Life Survival Skills (LSS) Activities Tying a Tie Practice

As part of fostering students' independence and life skills, Harapan Bangsa School held a tie-tying practice session on Wednesday, October 2, 2024. All students enthusiastically participated in the activity, which aimed to train them in presenting themselves neatly and confidently.

This activity is part of the school’s program to develop students' soft skills. Tying a tie, often seen as a symbol of neatness and formality, carries important values that should be learned early on. Besides improving fine motor skills, this activity also teaches students the importance of attention to detail in dressing and how it can influence first impressions.

Through this activity, SHB students are expected to:

• Increase independence: Students are trained to do everything on their own, including dressing themselves.
• Boost self-confidence: The ability to present themselves neatly will help students feel more confident in interacting with others.
• Develop soft skills: In addition to motor skills, this activity fosters patience, attention to detail, and teamwork skills.

The tie-tying practice was well-received by all students. They appeared enthusiastic and excited to follow each step of the learning process. The school hopes that activities like this can continue to be held regularly to support the holistic growth and development of the students.
