Mid-Autumn Festival is a traditional cultural festival popular among many ethnic groups in China. This festival falls on the 15th day of the eighth lunar month every year. Ancient customs as well as various myths and legends, such as Chang'e flying to the moon, Wu Gang's expedition to Guangxi, and Emperor Ming's visit to the Moon Palace, lend rich connotations to the Mid-Autumn Festival.
On September 26 2024, Harapan Bangsa Elementary School and Kindergarten held activities to celebrate the Mid-Autumn Festival. The event will start at 07.30 at SHB 5. The school holds various art performances. First, Kindergarten students prepare songs, dances and dramas related to the Mid-Autumn Festival, such as KC: 哈哈笑 , PG: 中秋节, KA1:月亮, Middle Grade 2:原月亮和爷爷为我打月饼, and KB: Drama (嫦娥奔月) and song and dance 圆圆. Second, the school also organizes Mid-Autumn Festival activities, such as making moon cake and pouch art works and making moon art works with rabbits, so that students can experience the stories and handicrafts of the Mid-Autumn Festival.
During the activity, all students took part in the activity actively. At the end of the event, each class took a group photo, and each class teacher distributed moon cakes, oranges and milk to students according to their respective classes. This event ends at 11.00.
The school holds Mid-Autumn Festival activities in the hope that students can understand traditional Chinese culture and the meaning and excitement of the Mid-Autumn Festival.
