Celebration welcoming Chinese New Year at the PRC Embassy in Indonesia

On January 23 2025 (Thursday), Cambridge Elementary School SHB students had the opportunity to attend a celebration event to welcome the Chinese New Year held by the Embassy of the People's Republic of China in the Republic of Indonesia.

At 10 am on Thursday, the students gathered at the elementary school building. A total of 31 students led by the Primary School Principal Mrs. Emy, Mandarin teachers Mrs. Noviana, Mr. Trio Alamsah, Mrs. Dian, our music teacher Mr. Cherio and Mr. Marcel from the IT Department, together boarded the bus to the Shangri-La Hotel in Jakarta.

At 6 pm, the event officially started. In a brightly lit hall, the students wore colorful traditional Chinese and Indonesian clothing, holding flags of the two countries. They stood energetically on the stage, singing the national anthems of the two countries in loud and melodious voices. Their appearance not only showed their love for their country, but also added to the festive atmosphere.

After the performance, students enjoyed a buffet dinner in the banquet hall. At 9:30 p.m., they returned to school. The Chinese Embassy also expressed its appreciation and thanks for the students' performance. This event not only showcased their melodious voices, but also helped students to build self-confidence, proud to show themselves, and be a witness to the friendship between the people of China and Indonesia. This was an unforgettable event.
