The Mid-Autumn Festival is a traditional cultural festival that is popular among various ethnic groups in China. This festival is celebrated every year on the 15th day of the 8th month in the lunar calendar.
On October 8, 2025, Sekolah Harapan Bangsa (SHB) Elementary and Kindergarten levels held an event to celebrate the Mid-Autumn Festival. The event began at 7:30 in the morning and took place on the 5th floor of SHB.
First, all kindergarten students performed a Mid-Autumn Festival-themed play titled “Chang’e Flies to the Moon.”
Children from the Kiddy Club and Playgroup played the roles of farmers.
Children from Kindergarten B portrayed the main characters, including:
The story's narrator, Chang’e, Hou Yi, the ten suns, the moon, the jade rabbit (Yu Tu), Xi Wangmu, and Pang Meng.
Some Kindergarten B students also recited the poem “Jìng Yè Sī.”
The event continued with a singing and dancing performance by Kindergarten A titled “Zhong Qiu Zhuan Ya Zhuan.”
Afterward, the school also held a Mid-Autumn Festival-themed craft activity, giving students an enjoyable experience while learning about the stories and culture behind the festival.
The event was a great success; all the students performed excellently, and the atmosphere was warm and full of joy. At the end of the event, each student received a mooncake, a steamed bun, and an orange to take home and enjoy with their family.
