2025 Christmas Celebration – Sekolah Harapan Bangsa Modernhill (Junior and Senior High School)

Theme: “The Gift of Love” (John 3:16)

On Monday, December 15, 2025, SHB Modernhill Junior–Senior High School held a joyful and meaningful Christmas celebration. Themed “The Gift of Love,” taken from John 3:16, this celebration served as a special opportunity to relive God's greatest love through the birth of Jesus Christ.

The Christmas event, held from 10:00–12:00 PM, was attended by SHB Modernhill Junior–Senior High School students with extraordinary enthusiasm. From the beginning, the atmosphere of joy and solemnity was palpable, reflecting the spirit of Christmas, which is filled with love, hope, and togetherness.

A Meaningful Christmas Service

The Christmas celebration featured a series of events presented by the Junior and Senior High School students of SHB Modernhill. Praise, worship, and creative performances were a way of expressing gratitude for God's love revealed to the world.

A Christmas spiritual sermon was delivered by Pastor Hari Sempulur, M.Th., who encouraged all participants to reflect on the true meaning of Christmas as God's gift of love for humanity. Through the words of God from John 3:16, all attendees were encouraged to not only celebrate Christmas ceremonially but also to apply Christ's love in their daily lives at school, at home, and in their communities.

Showing Love Through Donations

As a concrete manifestation of the theme “The Gift of Love,” this Christmas celebration also included a donation to the Bina Bhakti Nursing Home. This donation was the result of the participation and care of the students' parents, who lovingly participated in the Christmas social service.

Praise God, through togetherness and a spirit of sharing, a total of Rp 22,128,888 was collected. This donation is proof that Christ's love is not only expressed but also demonstrated through concrete actions to bless others, especially the elderly at the Bina Bhakti Nursing Home.

Recollection Service: “Jesus is My Healer” and “God is Present to Save the Family”

Following the Christmas service, the event continued with a Recollection service from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM . This service was held separately for Christian and Catholic students. The Christian recollection service was led by Father Eben Haezer Marbun, S.Th., with the theme “Jesus is My Healer,” while the Catholic recollection service was led by Brother Bonakasius Jebarus, OFM, with the theme “God is Present to Save the Family.”

Through the Word of God delivered by the speakers, the students were invited to experience personal healing, spiritually, emotionally, and mentally, in Jesus Christ. The service was filled with deep devotion, and many students reported being blessed, strengthened, and experiencing the touch of God's love through this session.

Conclusion

The 2025 SHB Modernhill Junior–Senior High School Christmas celebration was not only a beautiful event but also a spiritually meaningful one. The theme “The Gift of Love” was truly realized through worship, God's Word, student togetherness, and concrete acts of love for others.
