September has been an important month for our students as they prepare for the upcoming assessment week or mid-term tests. To prepare well, students are encouraged to review their lessons regularly, organize their study time, ask teachers for help when needed, and avoid last-minute studying. Getting enough rest, eating well, and staying positive are also important parts of being ready for the assessments. We hope every student feels confident and does their best.
This month also brought an unexpected challenge when volcanic activity from Anak Krakatau caused volcanic ash to affect the area. As volcanic ash can be harmful to our health, especially when breathed in, students were asked to continue learning from home for three days. Although learning from home was different from the usual school routine, our students continued their learning while staying safely at home with the support of their teachers and families.
After three days, students were very happy and excited to return to school and see their friends and teachers again. However, several safety restrictions were still necessary, including wearing masks and staying indoors instead of going outside. These measures were taken to protect everyone from possible exposure to volcanic ash and to make sure that students could return to school safely.
Before welcoming the students back, the school had thoroughly cleaned and prepared the school environment to ensure that classrooms and other areas were safe and ready for learning. The health and safety of our students remain our highest priority. Although September brought some unexpected challenges, it has also reminded us of the importance of being prepared, responsible, and supportive of one another as we continue learning together.
