Mooncake Festival

Last Tuesday on September 21^st, 2021, Sekolah Harapan Bangsa Primary Modernhill held their very own festive Mooncake activity. The event took place online, the students wore red shirts and were very enthusiastic about the event. This activity is carried out to introduce one of the important holidays and festivals in China and also to instill cross-cultural understanding between our countries.

The mooncake festival event commenced with prayers and followed by several engaging activities such as singing and dancing together, watching the history and origin of the mooncake festival together, making lantern videos as well as mooncake festival speeches from students through poetry readings. To ensure the students had grasped the knowledge and activities, we prepared a Quizizz review for the students as well as announcing the winners of English and Mandarin Listening competition.

Both the teachers and the students were on the edge of their seats during the entire duration of the event. Some teachers even dressed up as Chang E, the protagonist of the Mooncake video. The spirit of togetherness was evident and the entire event ran very smoothly and effectively.
